The work entitled Schnitzel with Noodles takes directly from the film, "Sound of Music". The work is a performance with two singers, both from a local dinner show at the Stern BraĆ¼, Salzburg. The performance consists of the singers performing songs from the "The Sound of Music" and dressed in "Trachtenmode" (traditional Austrian clothing) set during the drop-off times of the tour buses for the Sound of Music Tour. But instead of Julie Andrews, you get the re-adapted version of the "Sound of Music"-- slightly off-key from the "original".

The performance is set in front of Schloss Leopoldskron, the Von Trapp family home in the film, and a much celebrated highlight on the Tour. The performance looks to upend the Austrian stereotype by confronting tourists with a contrived and clearly constructed (outside) image of Austria.

Schnitzel with Noodles was part of the Salzburger Kunstverein "No Sound of Music" Program for Lange Nacht der Museen, 2009.
